Hi Michael!

Most apps I've seen do not support copying from a listbox (that includes most of my own :), even on OS X. But I'd agree that I'd expect this feature from an app with a somewhat polished UI - depends on the kind of data displayed, of course. And sometimes a listbox may contain data that is not easily copied into the clipboard (like images/icons).

I've never seen an app that allows pasting into a listbox - too hard to control the data that you get.

I'm not using Windows too much, but I'd say it's about the same there.

Bottom line: If the data might be useful for other apps (like Excel), adding Copy functionality might be a good idea. But I wouldn't bother with Paste functionality unless you have a very good reason to do so.

BTW, if you implement Copy/Paste, you should think about Drag/Drop too :)

Cheers,
   Frank+++

After struggling with a listbox, I realize that I may not appreciate the normal expected functionality for a user of a listbox.
 Is this true...

Copy=yes
Paste/cut = no

Is it the same on Windows/Apple?

This should go some way to figuring out why my Lisbox is acting in ways I cannot explain.

thanks
