Yes the IDE has been 'overly helpful' this way for quite a while.
Luckily this bug has been recently fixed.

I did search the bug database before entering my report, but didn't find
that one. I did pretty quickly get an email from RS that it had been fixed
however.
I hope I didn't sound too annoyed at RS, I wrote it after spending a few
hours on the bug.
