First of all, and before I forget:
Happy Christmas to everyone in this List and elsewhere.
Hi all,
after sending my previous report yesterday (written 8 hours earlier), I wanted
to check (try) some examples to see if I missed something (enlarge my
knowledge).
I searched the examples and did not found them. I realized that I do not wrote
for future usage which package I installed. Then, I decompress _here_ the .tgz
REALbasic 2006 Release 4 (REALbasicLinux.tgz, 89.3MB, fresh download and so
clearly identified, no possible error).
This part worked fine. What was fine too was... that I was able to launch that
application using a double-click (like in other OS Platforms)!
Now the bad part: I tried some MenuItems:
1. Getting Started is missing, FireFox is asked to download it
The file is in the hard disk's "Documentation" folder
2. Tutorial is missing
The files are in the hard disk too
3. The Language Reference _PDF_ is missing
That file is not in the "Documentation" folder
Of course, I have it elsewhere (downloaded by myself earlier for MacOS X /
Windows)
BTW: this is one thing that I saw under Mac OS X and linux (not checked
recently under Windows):
you have a project open, you are in the Code Editor and want to search some
variable name - or "Something Else" - and press Command-F (Mac OS X) or Alt+F
(linux). You type the word to search and press Return (or Enter).
You get the first occurence of your searched word highlighted. Another Return
(or Enter) to get another occurence and you face to the unexpected: the first
found occurence is deleted and replaced by a (platform wise) \return.
OK, Command-Z (MacOS X) or Alt+Z to Undo and you are done.
But, "What If" you do not notice what happens ("the bug") ?
Last, I found in the release notes (not in the r4 part) that
System.Cursors.Show | System.Cursors.Hide does not works under linux. Will it
works in REALbasic 2007 Release 1 (that could be released in less than two
weeks) ?
Thank you for reading,
Emile
