No. If I select a control and click on 'Add binding' an empty dialog
appears. In case I select two related controls, the dialog appears
empty too.

I haven't used it myself, but it appears that all you need to do is
highlight two objects you want to bind to each other and then choose
the menuItem Project>Add>Binding.
