Question 1: the REALbasic generated movie.
I have a flash video whose size is 6.7MB on disk.
I open it and save it to disk using:
// Get the Movie Time length (in seconds)
MPflv.Position = 12345678910111213141516 // What a value!
Duration = MPflv.Position // Get the correct length
// Create a brand new Movie
NewMovie = SaveAsFI.CreateMovie
// Pass the video and sound tracks to the NewMovie EditableMovie
NewMovie.AppendMovieSegment MPflv.Movie, 0, Duration, True
and the saved file length is... 100KB.
Not sure here, have you tried playing back the resulting movie? Are
you sure it's being savde as a Flash move and not some lower
framerate compressed type?
Question 2: file extension:
What can be the file extension ?
Flash movies should have the extension of .swf
