You may be right, but in "REALity" RS simply has to add new features in

No that is not correct. It Is not like CodeWarrior was adding a huge pile of features from version to version, often very little was added, just minor improvements here and there, and yet users were paying a lot every year to stay up to date.

You would be surprised how many people pay for increased stability and over all features.

Not to mention compiler optimizations and improvements which is actually by definition a "feature" after all REALbasic is a compiler, and as such then optimizations, quality and keeping up with the operating systems (such as for example Universal Binaries, compiling for 64bit operating systems and other things) is what will bring most stability and usability to the customers.

It is very sad how many of the old REALbasic veterans have left REALbasic, and you will find that in most cases they gave up on quality issues and not lack of new features. (Those customers are usually the most expensive to loose as they tend to bring in a lot of new users).

The silly "New feature" policy that has been played all those years is very destructive, it brings in new users who may be willing to "peek in" but does nothing to keep existing users. Policy like this can be good to begin with to get user base but eventually it turns on you as you are keeping fewer users in long term business with you. Fixed amount of "peek sales" when each new version is released is hardly a very favorable position to be in long term.
