I have tried to search for SQLite on the web. SQLite seems

(1) Do you recommend use of SQLite instead of the REALBasic
built-in data base?

REALBasic uses SQLite as the built-in database.

(2) Or do you mean that SQLite Manager can be used also for
the REALBasic data base?

SQLite Manager can be used with REALBasic databases (since they are SQLite databases).

(3) Can I use SQLite Manager with an existing REALBasic
data base, or do I have to define my data base in special
ways to suit SQLite Manger?

(4) What is the advantages of using SQLite Manger?

SQLite Manager makes it convenient to view and manipulate the data in your database outside of your RB code. It is easy to test queries in it and such. It is a complementary tool for the development of RB database applications.

For example, if your RB code does not find a record that you think is in the database, you can fire up SQLite Manager and look to see if the record is there. If it is, you can test the query that you use in your RB code. If the query isn't quite right, you can figure out the correct query and then update your RB code. I am still a database novice but SQLite Manager has been very helpful to me. Perhaps the pros don't have much need for it.

I hope that helps.

Cheers,
  Malcolm Smith

SQLite Manager is not the kind of thing you will be dependant like "fatstring".
