Agreed. Although I've always thought of the forums as a place to go to for help ( particularly since Aaron is very helpful on them ) and the NUG as the community "town hall" or watercooler where the community "meet" and chew the cud.
I also think a separate mailing list linked to all the feature requests would be a good thing.
