Hi all, REALbasic 2007 Release 1 Mac OS X 10.4.8 but I think that this concern all platforms.
I was surprised earlier this morning when I closed a Tab (Command-W) and closed the project window instead of the current tab. I have to search a bit to find my project file on disk (I do not saved at my favorite location and do not ask me why!) and I started the quest 'till I found that there is two citizen Tabs: App + Project and the rest of the worls (the other tabs). [*] But not all of the times for the App tab! Here's the shema: a. The Project Tab Case: When you issue Command-W to close a Tab, that tab is closed unless it is the Project tab (WHY ?). b. The App Tab special case: You have several opened Tabs, and the App Tab is not the last one; when you press Command-W in sequence, all Tabs are closed until you are in the App Tab. In that case (and only in that case), the project window is closed. If you open the App Class (and thus get an App Tab), work on it, then close it (with the infamous Command-W) it is closed as expected! I think that this is a mis-behavior. I have checked, when the Project or the App Tab is open, the Keyboard shortcut does not change (Command-W is still named Close Tab). Even if that change, Command-Tab have to always close the frontmost Tab; just like Command-Shift-W have to always close the Project. The Project Tab case: After some minutes of intense brain work, I think that Command-W have to be disabled when the Project Tab is frontmost. You know where to send your feelings about what I consider as "a bug", Emile [*] Usually, I create a folder for my new project on a special location when I save it to disk (usually after the first run, or after the design of the main window is done, but not all the time), but it was an exception this time. _______________________________________________ Unsubscribe or switch delivery mode: <http://www.realsoftware.com/support/listmanager/> Search the archives of this list here: <http://support.realsoftware.com/listarchives/lists.html>
