If what Steve says is correct and plans are to compete against

it would be a natural evolution to allow Developers to work with
the iphone. But even if they didnt, IM GETTING ONE!!! :-D
The only beef i have is that it does not seem to have external
memory support or external IO cards supports. That would have been
awesome as I already have a need for them for apps.
There is a simm card slot so it remains to be seen what you can do
with that
And Steve was using a video out attachment so I wonder if the port on
the bottom is the "iPod connector" as there are those kinds of
accessories for iPods
There are accessories that provide more battery and via that connector
Memory expansion may not be out of the question
They need to come up with a PDA and that would shake the PDA world
big time.
I think they just did in many respects
If you kook at the "pda's" that people have and use they fulfill a
small niche; mail, phone, contacts, calendar (obviously Newton users
use them for far more than that) but things like Palms etc have
morphed into devices that fulfill just those basic functions for most
people
The iPhone fulfills that
it remains to see how third parties can expand that set of capabilities
