2.33 MHz? My 1990 MacClassic ran at 8 MHz. I think you meant GHz. :)

My 2 GHz G5 iMac improved significantly when I increased my Ram from 1 GB to 2 GB (the maximum for that machine). I found that I was using up to 800 MB of Ram with a couple of other apps running and a couple of Rb projects open.

My hard drive is used much less now.

Since OS X doesn't has a RAM disk, might a mounted DMG be used to speed up certain
jobs? Might a DMG's memory get somehow marked as 'non-pagable'?
