Is the long-deprecated REALDatabaseOldFormat supported on Mac
Intel? It is on Mac PPC and Windows in 2007r1.
What are people doing who have been using the database as a local
document, rather than connecting to a server?
Is there any way to use a plugin with older builds to talk to files
created on an Intel Mac running a UB?
I probably have to continue supporting a Classic build but ship UB's
this year. Am I out of options?
It seems if you want to build and distribute UB's your choices are:
1) stop using any database from RS, as third parties are more
reliable in providing support, or
2) use non-SQL formats such as XML and do all your own querying in
memory, or
3) keep distributing conversion utilities to your end users, that
will run under Rosetta.
Maybe I haven't been paying enough attention to database issues but
I'm puzzled there hasn't been a huge outcry.
