If your client already has mySQL then you do have to deal with that and connect to it.

How about PostgreSQL vs. MySQL market share?

There has been some numbers suggesting that people are switching as more and more people get angry about suddenly having to pay for a "free" db. mySQL has done a great job making mySQL pervasive and then going after people for money once they are so wedded to it they can't change easily.
It's almost bait and switch.

If market share were the only criteria we'd all be using Oracle, Sybase or MS SQL and maybe DB2
