Hi Group,
Can anyone get me started on a reference to loading my software
into Vista? I am a Mac guy. The software currently runs well on
Windows32 through XP Pro.
Specifically, I would like to know how to get my program UNinstall
routine (.exe) to show up in the "Uninstall or change a program"
window.
Are you using an installer to put your application on ?
Most installers will set this up so that a program can be uninstalled
easily.
Norman,
I am using a primitive installer (Install Factory) where I must
direct files to specific folders. For example, the app is directed to
the Programs folder. In all other versions of Windows I have placed
the uninstall app in the Programs folder; the user selecting either
the run app or the uninstall app from the Start menu.
Vista appears to separate the run app from the uninstall app, the
latter appearing on a screen listing all uninstall apps. However,
both the run and uninstall apps still are contained in the Programs
folder.
I believe, but may be incorrect, that a shortcut must be placed
somewhere, but I can't seem to find where. :(
