It also seems for me that with the relatively recent addition of video streaming inside the flash engine and useage in YouTube and increasingly in web adverts that Flash is has "turned a corner".
I sometimes think Adobe might even start considering Flash as a "platform" in itself. I was amazed to come across 3d games ( including Doom ) implemented in Shockwave - which is related to flash.
