I really think a better solution would have been for RS to rewrite the forum AND NUG software so that they both operate from the same data.
Surely it is hardly rocket science to devise some code to intercept all emails to the list and enter them into the forum database as regular posts. And surely it isnt rocket science to automatically email posts made to the forum via the web back out to the mailing list. Mailing lists have a unique "dynamic" to them - thanks to their "push" nature over the "pull" idiom of the forum. Please put your brightest RS web boys on to this. Maybe RS can even sell the resulting software as a product in itself.
