I fully agree with everybody else that for discussion, a mailing list is much more interactive and quick than forums. And as someone else pointed out, this discussion is a perfect example of it. Once this list is gone, no more such goodness.
I have given a chance to the forums. They have been up for what now, close to two years? I was one of the first persons to register. But the vast majority of people stayed on the mailing list and this is much more convenient for all kinds of reasons that people have already mentionned here. Isn't that the proof that the mailing list is a better idea? Don't you love it when you come into work on Monday morning and somebody *else* has decided how *you* are going to work? The problem is, we feel a certain level of ownership over things we love, like RB, and when someone else messes with it without asking our opinion, we feel robbed. However, REAL is a private company and they are entitled to do anything they want with RB, including messing it up. Oh well. On Monday, February 12, 2007, this mailing list will no longer be active. We encourage you to continue your REALbasic and REAL SQL Server discussions on the Forums. If you are not presently a member of the forum, please sign up today at <http://forums.realsoftware.com>.
