The icon problem I observed which matches Ton Brand's report below looks like an InstallShield issue where the icon assigned to the .exe is specifically a 32x32 sized icon. This is fine on XP, but looks like the standard for Vista is 48x48. Removing the icon references in InstallShield and relying on the exe to work out itself what icon it needs is a good solution for both XP and Vista as the right icon is picked up. But a problem emerges on Vista which is probably due to no 256x256 icon. See bug report [rtzlmzei] that I posted in another thread. As you increase the icon size above medium or 48x48 to large and extra large in Windows Explorer, your app's icon doesn't adjust its size beyond 48x48. It reduces in size fine down to 16x16. I'll add a note to Ton Brand's report that what we observed may be a InstallShield/Installer issue. The blown up 32x32 icon reported by Ton Brand looks like an InstallShield issue on Vista only but RS verified the report so I did not dig too much into it at the time.
I'm using innosetup so that explains why my standard sized app icons are working fine.
But there appears to be a problem when you directly look at the RB app icon and apply the Windows slider to change the icon size in Windows Explorer. There are different sizes like Large and Extra Large and the icon does not appear to resize beyond 32x32 (or perhaps 48x48) compared to other Vista icons. It certainly does not resize to 128x128. When I right click the RB executable and click change icon, only the 32x32 icon is visible to be selected. Are you doing something special to see the 128x128 icons?
I hadn't experimented with larger views in Vista. In looking at them, I do see that above a certain size (48X48?), the icon simply stops resizing.
There's certainly no 256x256 icon space in RB yet.
