RB 2007r1 is leaving behind *hundreds* of temporary files every time
you open it. I was wondering why it took so long to launch. Well,
there were several thousand old RB temp files laying around, and
large UNIX directories like that take a long time to traverse.
Every time I launch RB, I get 148 new temp files, and none of them
are removed when quitting. The number of files might depend on your
plugins, etc.
RB 2007r1 Mac OS 10.4.8 PPC.
Here's how you can test:
1. In Terminal:
ls /private/var/tmp/folders.*/TemporaryItems | wc -w
2. Launch RB. It opens with an untitled project. Then quit.
3. Repeat the Terminal command:
ls /private/var/tmp/folders.*/TemporaryItems | wc -w
4. To see the list of files, just do:
ls /private/var/tmp/folders.*/TemporaryItems
They have names like "Temp-4178" and "Temp16557".
So, this is a warning and a request to sign on to this bug report:
blblacfd ("Temporary files being left around")
