Thanks all - both those on this list and at RS. I think this
thread ("Important Information About Mailing Lists: PLEASE READ") is
probably the largest I've seen (in terms of # replies), or at least
in the top 5. (to think that at one point I was actually going to
waste time counting thread replies just for fun...) The other
contenders in that list probably had to do with RS pricing/
subscription policies, or language wars, I'm betting...
I'm glad that RS 'relented' and brought the lists back from the
brink of doom, but I can also see that what Geoff did (in making the
original decision) was brave (if somewhat foolhardy.) Hopefully, we
can all learn something from this debacle. (mostly about taking
drastic action without feedback, methinks. Or perhaps about faith...)
Hopefully now all the killer bees will go home and stop stinging
him (and Dana)...
