Ok, before anyone says anything, I NEED absolutepaths because other
non RB applications need to read the filepaths... but maybe this
would be solved by converting to unix style paths.... but anyway
I have a folderitem that points to a file who's name contains UTF16
characters (Arabic)
I get the absolutepath of this folder item and the resulting string
is fine=correct
I make a new folderitem and initialize it with getfolderitem(string)
The resulting folderitem has all the UTF16 characters turned into "?"'s
So...
Maybe getfolderitem with a string is not unicode savvy? I have the
same problem if the filename only has UTF8 (Russian) characters.
I found jsppdshp in the feedback system and I think it is the same
issue? I have filed additional information as that seemed to be what
RB wants.
Has anyone run across this and found a workaround? I don't want to
move to shell paths only to discover the same issue at some point.
