Would like to announce a novel release of VideoOut Plugin:

VideoOut Plugin, based on QuickTime Video Output Components enables RB programmers to output DV and DVCPRO video streams via the FireWire port (also known as iLink or IEEE-1394) of your Macintosh and Windows computers.

[fix]: added much needed documentation to the SwitchMovie method.
[new] MacOS X: added new bundle support when REALbasic is loading this plugin. [new]: added constants to VideoOut: eAudioRate48khz, eAudioRate44khz, eAudioRate32khz, eAudioRateDefault and removed these from VideoOut.property list.

SwitchMovie: A most needed method allowing switching movies you have assigned to the VideoOut.movie property. Before version 2.0 you required to cease the connection, and then you needed to call commence. This was ok, but it resulted in flicker. With this method, all of your settings are preserved, while under the hood we will find out how many tracks the new movie contains, then for each track we will find out if the new movie contains a sound media type and we finally grab the media handler for those tracks.

Under the hood we will do a lot of things following the assignment of a new movie to VideoOut and calling SwitchMovie:

** We first determine if the movie property of videoOut is not nil. If so we throw an exception. ** We also throw an exception if there is no sound output (me.HasDoundOutput = false), earlier established when Commence was called. ** We throw an exception if the VideoOutComponent instance does not exist, this would occur if you haven't called Commence, and did call Cease. If we passed these steps we then proceed with switching the movie.
