Very much agreed, if you're going to use PostgreSQL you should use
pgSQL4RB. Without wanting to steal Marc's thunder, Paradigma have
recently introduced similar, open source, bindings for Valentina as
well.
Ironic that the RB bindings are so lame where the 3rd party ones are
so good.
