No, I'm not seeing that. I'm seeing the cursor disappear for about one
second on each keydown, regardless of the state of the cursor.
I just copied that EditField into a new project, and there it is! I
added a new EditField to the same window, and that one behaves as it should.
I was hoping someone else had encountered this, but it looks like I'll
have to dig a bit deeper still.
I just had an idea. Unless I'll wake up tomorrow with the solution
sitting in my inbox I'll save the project (with one 'good' and one 'bad'
EditField) as XML; open it in TextEdit, remove everything but the two
EditFields from the XML source and see how both EditFields differ. It
should show something.

It seems to me though, that the first one is a bug and not the second
one? (I just tried it with a new a new project)
Editing text when the caret becomes invisible when, for instance,
positioning the caret with the arrow keys is not something I'd wish
to do.
Oops yes, quite right. It should appear whenever you move the cursor
-- it's the *mouse* cursor that should disappear.
I haven't noticed the problem you describe, but here's something to
watch out for -- could it be that if the cursor is currently invisible
(in the middle of a blink) when you start typing, that it stays
invisible? And if it's currently visible, it stays that way as you
type?
