I just discovered that if I copy a folder with contents, say Folder1, then rename the original folder to say Folder2, then do a paste.
I get a second folder with the original name, Folder1, that is empty.
But inside the original, now renamed folder, Folder2, I have duplicate copies of all the stuff there with a "1" added to the end of the duplicate names.

Not good, but it looks like I can copy/paste to a new project, work on the stuff there, rename ,etc then copy, paste back.

I am working on a program where someone is entering test data. Now they want to enter similar, but different test data. My easiest solution is going to be to copy the test1 stuff, then rename this and modify as needed for test2. And now have test1 and test2 stuff and the user has to select which at the beginning. If I had this requirement from the beginning of the project, the overall design would have been different to start with. Yet another hack job.

Thanks for your help
Lou

It seems kind of incongruous that copy/paste don't work on a folder
level, export does, and delete does
It makes the IDE seem inconsistent

I guess so, but maybe it doesn't bother me as much because I've
pondered all the complexities of making copy/paste work on the folder
level. :)
Still, sounds like somebody should file a feature request.

Actually I misspoke (Bad me)

copy and pasting works fine UNLESS try to copy a folder and simply paste it back in without removing the original
You can cut/copy and paste across projects easily

However, IF you copy a older & contents and then paste you do get only an empty folder
I'm not really sure what the expected behavior SHOULD be though
