No, the "i" is the index of "theList" array, which is the value he's passing to the dictionary. So in this case he's looping through an array, not the dictionary.

To "search" the dictionary you'd use the dictionary's hasKey function to see if the value is in it:

  if d.hasKey(anItem) then...
