Ok would a easier way be to display a dialog box telling the user to put there music files in a certain directory?

I am not looking at converting the files I simply want to import them off the cd (ie copy them off the cd and put them in a directory (or folder)) and then list them in my listbox

I will use QuickTime to play them

In the old days, you had to "import" CD audio files to play them. These days, though, I believe they show up as ordinary AIFF files. Just copy those files to your folder using FolderItem methods and then load them into something like a MoviePlayer to play them.

Sorry for adding to the confusion. The filetype seen on the CD when you open it in Finder is AIFF, not WAV. A quick test here with the latest QT Pro shows the song files on the CD. I was able to use the file copy examples in teh RB docs to copy them to the harddrive. They are BIG, however... :).
