http://www.abinitio.com Although you won't learn a great deal about the product there. It's an Extract, Translate and Load (ETL) system, with a nice(ish) graphical IDE. It's super great and getting data out of your source database in parallel streams, translating the data as you see fit with a number powerful components and then loading it back up into a target database (can be the same as the source or many disparate targets). When you're trying to convert 100+ million accounts plus all their associated records from one bespoke database system to another as part of a "CRM" project, it comes in very handy. As long as you're using a number of 16 way Sun E10,000 domains and have lots of money for the licenses that is! It's great stuff, but a little pricey for most. Oh, and you can do run of the mill daily batch and on-demand stuff if you like, bit of a hammer to a walnut though.
