On Windows, I've noticed that in EditFields, if you paste text from a web page into them, and the text contains the symbol for trademark, the trademark symbol is lost. Changing the font for the EditField to Arial allowed the symbol to display.
For the heck of it, I typed "Sans Serif" into TextFont on the Properties Panel and it also displayed fine. The reason I'm a little confused is that there is no font on my system called "Sans Serif". There is an MS Sans Serif, but it is not using MS Sans Serif. MS Sans Serif gives a 'blocky' appearance when it is used for larger type. Is "Sans Serif" causing the application to make a call to the system to display a generic sans serif font in the same sort of way that "System" does? Is this safe and will the font style be consistent from one machine to the next? Thanks. RB5.5.5 and a mostly unused copy of 2006r2. WinXP, 2.2 GHz, 2G RAM
