sweet
i put this code into CellTextPaint
  If column=1 then
    g.foreColor= StatusColor
    //g.DrawCGImageXYMBS
    g.FillOval x,y-8,10,10
    //g.DrawString "O",x,y
  end if
  Return True

then I change StatusColor to a different color with a button but it
takes time clicking around until i get to see the change in color of
the circle.
Is there a more automatic way or refresh for this to take effect immediately?

Now i need to be more selective along this status column so one of the
entries will have an oval of one color and other will have an oval of
a different color. how to be more selective and dynamic than this? i
mean i cannot be inventing a thousand color variables to load them
dynamically.

can i call the CellTextPaint for a particular cell and do it outside
the events with a button? You mentioned invalidatecell but i guess i
did not pick up what you meant.
