Has anyone figured out how to get the newer polished metal windows on OS X?
The current brushed metal windows are close but there are some drawbacks. - can't draw right to the edges (the window clips the content region leaving 4 or 5 pixels of the brushed metal visible - drag behaviour isn't quite right (not all of the visible metal surface is draggable) I thought of using another window type and drawing the background myself but I believe that it still may not be possible (getting the right corners on the window for example). It would also require faking all the window title controls (close, zoom & minimize buttons including the "dirty dot" and flyover behaviour, proxy icon, cmd-click on the title, etc.) which is subject to problems as soon as a new version of the system is released. So, is there a window type or window attribute that can get me there? Thanks for any suggestions. I'm pretty much stumped at this point.
