Yes, you're right, anything that causes the IDE to display an exception
dialog is clearly a bug.  Whoever evaluated it might have been in a
hurry, and didn't understand what you were saying.  I'm sure the IDE is
not designed to display an exception dialog when the user does
something wrong!
