The only way this is happening on OS X is if someone has somehow edited/corrupted your NetInfo database
Open Applications/Utilities/NetInfo.app and check in the "Machines" selection, to see if there are some odd match ups. in a normal installation there should only be two. localhost should map to 127.0.0.1 broadcasthost should map to 255.255.255.255 If you see weird entries in there, like google.com mapping to some specified address, then someone has had a go at your NetInfo DB - Tom On 16/03/2007, at 9:32 AM, Daniel Stenning wrote: > OT I know - but "help!" anyone know about this ? > > I am getting random searchportal web pages coming up in place of > valid we > sites/ > > > I didn't want to risk googling some connected spoof site that > makes things > worse;/ > > Regards, > > Dan > > _______________________________________________________ > www.13flatFIVE.com > The C++ <> REALbasic code migration specialists > > > _______________________________________________ > Unsubscribe or switch delivery mode: > <http://www.realsoftware.com/support/listmanager/> > > Search the archives: > <http://support.realsoftware.com/listarchives/lists.html> _______________________________________________ Unsubscribe or switch delivery mode: <http://www.realsoftware.com/support/listmanager/> Search the archives: <http://support.realsoftware.com/listarchives/lists.html>
