I'm at home on a Mac with no serial ports and i won't be back to a PC with a serial port until Monday but I am working on a serial project for that PC...
The Language reference for Serial. Open says: Attempts to open the serial port. Returns True if the port was opened and False if it was not. But that does not specify what happens if you call Serial.Open on a port already open... Does it return TRUE or throw an exception or fire the Error event? I would think it returns true... but as i can not test it now I need to ask to be sure.
