Hi there.

I had the same problem.

If you use the online help with realbasic, you will see something like 
db.Encryptionkey = <whatever>

and when I quit I do db.encrypt <whatever>

this is what I use, and it seems to work for me...  I have it as a Module 
subroutine, that I call whenever I have to deal with a database...

dim f as FolderItem 
dim db as realsqldatabase
   db = new realsqldatabase 
   f=getfolderitem(dbname) 
   db.databasefile=f 
   db.EncryptionKey = "your_password"

Hope this helps a little...
