That's kinda pointless seeing as OS X is already built on a Unix kernel anyway... And with great power comes... great abuse. Especially if you "cd /", then "sudo rm -r" at the terminal with root privileges! (okay, I apologize - I realize some of you may actually want to put a linux distro on so you can test Linux apps compiled with RB...) As to the original problem, I found that you can right-click the task bar, select properties and click the "Customize" button, you can permanently hide ones you don't want - select it's behavior in the right-hand column of the listbox, and pull down and select "Always Hide." HTH anyone else with this aggravating problem! Got this from "Windows XP Hacks" (O'Reilly Books)
