And I think you put it "in a nutshell".

If REAL considered that an "editfield with all the bells and  
whistles" really was a critical part of REALbasic, I think they would  
have done so already.

This is not to say that improvements in these areas are not part of  
their overall plan but, in any case, it is entirely up to them to  
decide where development efforts should be expended.

I have my own pet peeves about the Editfield but there are none that  
cannot be worked around by various means.

When one considers the original purpose of REALbasic (Cross Basic)  
was to provide an easy-to-use cross platform application tool, I  
think the development of Rb is going along as scheduled and that what  
we now have is a far cry from when I started in Rb2.
