I'm picking nits here, but it's not right to say that RB uses a
non-optimizing compiler.  It's been doing optimizations for years, and
probably does some by now that I don't even know about.  We may wish
for it to do more optimizations, or certain optimizations, but it's
certainly not accurate to say it does none.
