should
I've never had an issue
And what is the name of this FTP command line I need to run?
ftp ip_address_for_your_mac_from_sharing_preference
I know the Mac side well, enabling FTP there is no problem...
Its the Linux side I'm shaky on.
on linux you could just use a web browser and point it at your
mac using a url like ftp://
ip_address_for_your_mac_from_sharing_preference
FTP enabled.
I enter the address ftp://10.0.0.3 into Konqueror.... I log in
with my username and password, and... I get an empty window, 0
files 0 folders. I tried uploading a file to that folder to see
where it cold be on my Mac... upload failed.
Oh, wait it was the Mac firewall, great.... So I can't get a
firewall without Linux not being able to FTP to the Mac??? Stupid
firewall...
Now, what directory do I cd into to access this ftp from the shell?
You said I can access it like a normal file system.
No
You have to use the FTP client to do this BUT you can CD around in
side it
do an ls to see where you landed and cd from there to where ever
you need to be as if you were logged in to terminal on the mac
I guess you misread my original question:
"Will this FTP client actually load the Mac FTP files on the Linux

You said "should I've never had an issue"
Actually, it can't.
I was hoping it would work like it works on the Mac. Where the FTP is
just another file system, nothing special.
Turns out it's not that easy.
Actually samba worked easier, because the files appeared as part of
the file system, but it stopped working for some odd reason.
I may just ftp to copy the files and do it the hard way :(
There must be some way to just access the Mac's file system? I did it
with samba before before it stopped working..
