More often that not, when I have an app that calls for an older library, I just make a symbolic link to the newer one with the old one's name. So far this has worked well with the few things I've had to do it for. Depending on your distro there may also be compatibility libraries you can install. I'll check it out on my linux box later and let you know.

Most distros nowdays dont even have 5 installed by default, I would think it is better to go with what is new and supported since many systems will need to install the 5 anyhow. So if some older systems will need to install 6, then what is the problem ?

Personally I am at the point where I will probably go with 6 regardless of what REALbasic does.
