Is there an e-mail interface option to the online forum?
Can the online forum software:
* dispatch an email for each post to a subscribed forum?
* dispatch a digest version of a subscribed forum?
* allow someone to reply to a post via email, which would
automatically appear in the online forum?
Then everything is consolidated, yet people can stick with email
if they wish.
I know this capability does exist, because the WebStar support
forum has been doing it for a long while now. When the new owners
decided to merge the mailing list into the forum, they got a similar
response to the one being seen here. The difference is, it took them
about 10 minutes to have the e-mail interface going for the forum,
and it works absolutely transparently.
