We are going to be focusing time for 3.1 on fixing any and all problems you have that prevent you from updating your plug-ins. We are currently only aware of two cases (12772 and 12759). So please tell us of any other issues there are. Our goal is to make 3.1 such that you can make significant progress on your plug-ins but we need to know what problems you are facing and solve those if we are going to get 3.1 into shape for you.
