Why ?
The Win32 API's haven't changed so much that what CW generated
won't run or had API's outright removed
And it generates decent code
VS might be marginally better if you want new API's etc but it's
certainly not required

Oh heck for OS X use XCode for sure
But for Win32 CW is still useful
