what program are you using to compress to realvideo?
i went down the avid/quicktime road a few months ago...here's what i learned.
Avid does not export quicktime very well. Audio tracks get reversed and all
audio will lose sync after a few seconds.
the work around...
1- export audio and video separately. first export a video only quicktime, then
export a *stereo* AIFF at 16bit 44.1 kHz
2- use the quicktime playerPRO to make a pointer that re-joins the two files
(use the comand key while selecting paste from the menu bar to execute an "add"
type paste.)
3- save the file 'normaly', this will make a small (<100k) quicktime pointer
that can be read by any quicktime compliant app.

i'm using media cleaner 4.0 from terran ( http://www.terran.com ) it does a
great job with the real video...and although they don't say they support avid
codec's, it works great. if you have a decent pc around, the windows version is
blazing fast compared to the mac, and avid has a composer codec plugin for
quicktime 4 that works on windows.
hope that helps
tmo
