An example of push mode is the server sending stock prices to clients, and a typical application of pull mode is Video-On-Demand. With Real Systems, if the server has an open API, the client (not necessarily Real Player) can ask the server to change multicast or broadcast parameters. I guess I can always do this manully and reload the server but a lightweight reconfiguration may be desireable. This is useful if you are thinking of building an appication using Real Systems.
