I honestly  don't know that much about what you want to do, but it sounds
like RealProducer might be the easiest way to record a stream. I have been
using it to encode .wav files to .rm files and from what I've read it sounds
like it has the capability of recording...

Just a suggestion. RealPlayer g2 might be better.
