From: "Fred Grahn" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Question about Buffering Hi, I'm new to the RealServer product, and had a couple of questions those = who are more experienced. I am currently in the process of developing a = web site that will incorporate using RealPlayer as a plug-in. I have = gotten my show to run via both Internet Explorer and Netscape, however, = as it loads the show (via http) in both browsers, it actually takes 5 = seconds to buffer the show stream. When I open the .smil file in the = stand alone RealPlayer G2 using http, the show does not need any buffer = time to load the show. My questions are: 1. Is there a difference between the stand alone version of RealPlayer = and the RealPlayer plug-in? 2. Why does the RealPlayer need to buffer the show? 3. Are there parameters I can set so that when I load the show it = doesn't need any time to buffer the show? 4. Does this make any sense? Any help would greatly be appreciated. Sorry if I'm not using the = terminology correctly. Regards, Frederick
