Subject: Best Video I can get

I need to purchase a new capture card. At the present I am using a =
Videum AV Card by Winnov. It goes in a pci slot and uses no interrupts. =
I capture them as an avi file. I have to use composite and I take my =
videos off a vhs tape. I want to put videos on the net as clear as =
possible with the setup I have to use. =20

My cpu is a 500 Pentium III with an 18 gig scsi drive, 256 megs of ram =
and a diamond viper 550 video card. =20

There are many capture cards on the market and a variety of prices and a =
lot of different software comes with each variety of capture card. I =
use real player plus G2 and encode with real producer plus G2. A few =
people have told me to get Adobe premiere for my software. I also =
notice you have a new version called real producer pro G2. Is better =
than your real producer plus G2?

A few people have told me to capture as mpeg 1 instead of avi. The =
capture I do can be someone standing still, a little motion or a lot of =
motion. I also would like the capture card to have an usb slot or pci. =
I do not want to use a parallel port.

Lately have been noticing the sound is not as clear played on the real =
player plus G2 as it is if played on Microsoft media player. Any =
suggestions?.

Please advise what would be my best possible setup as far as capture =
card, codec, player & encoder. Thanks. Mona Martin
