Hello there,

I am not sure how you arrived at getting the .ram to show in the player, =
but you can use a link of type

http://myreaslserver.com:8080/ramgen/mysmilfile.smi the :8080 links to =
the Real Server's internal Web server, and the ramgen subdirectory =
simply tells the server to create the .ram on the fly.
This is normally documented in the RealProducer online documentation.

As a caveat, I would say that the Real stats screw up on this one, as =
they show both the /ramgen and the actual file itself as having been =
played X number of times, but these numbers are not the same :-( So =
using the .ram files is useful if only to avoid this 'feature' and only =
being able to guess at the real number of users having viewed your =
files.

HTH,

Patrick.

Subject: Direct Link to SMIL file

Hello all,

Does anyone have any insight into linking SMIL files? I notice that =
when I
link directly to SMIL files on my local machine for testing, the player
opens and everything works fine. But when I link use the same page with =
the
same directory structure on my internet server, the SMIL file link just
leads to a new and empty browser page.

I'd like to be able to link directly to the SMIL file so that the title =
bar
in my player can read "Program Title" instead of "program_title.ram".

Any hints?

Thanks in advance for any help.
