We've had phenomena luck with RedHat Linux 5.2 and a
cheapy $99 Hauppauge Wincast card running G2 producer.
It's even been submerged underwater accidentally "while"
running, and came back online when it dried out of its
own accord.. your mileage may vary of course.
The rust and corrosion wasn't pretty, but it kept pumping
out the images.
